Full email headers contain technical delivery information that can help us troubleshoot spam, delivery, and authentication issues.

Please follow the instructions below for the email program you use.

Outlook on the Web or New Outlook

  1. Open the email you want us to review.

  2. Click the three dots (...) / More actions near the top of the message.

  3. Select View.

  4. Select View message details.

  5. A window will open showing the full email headers.

  6. Select all of the text and copy it.

  7. Paste the copied information into a reply to us.

Microsoft documents this under View > View message details.


Classic Outlook for Windows

  1. Double-click the email so it opens in its own window.

  2. Click File.

  3. Click Properties.

  4. Look for the Internet headers box near the bottom.

  5. Click inside that box and select all of the text.

  6. Copy the text and paste it into a reply to us.

Microsoft documents the headers under File > Properties in classic Outlook.


Gmail

These steps work best from Gmail in a web browser.

  1. Open the email.

  2. Click the three dots next to the Reply button.

  3. Select Show original.

  4. A new page will open showing the full email information.

  5. Click Copy to clipboard.

  6. Paste the copied information into a reply to us.

Google documents this process using the Show original option.


Apple Mail on Mac

  1. Open the message in Apple Mail.

  2. From the menu at the top of the screen, choose View.

  3. Choose Message.

  4. Select All Headers or Raw Source, depending on your version of Mail.

  5. Copy the complete header information.

  6. Paste it into a reply to us.

If you use iCloud Mail in a web browser instead, open the message, select More, then choose Show All Headers.


Mozilla Thunderbird

  1. Open the email.

  2. Choose View from the menu.

  3. Select Headers > All.

For the complete raw message information, you can also choose View > Message Source.

  1. Copy the information and paste it into a reply to us.


What We Need

Please send us the entire header, even though it may look like a large block of technical text.

The information helps us check things such as:

  • Whether the sending server was accepted

  • SPF authentication

  • DKIM authentication

  • DMARC authentication

  • Spam filtering results

  • Mail server routing

  • Delivery delays or failures

Please do not edit or remove lines from the header before sending it to us.
