Here are a few steps to try to regain access to your Microsoft account:
1. Try the Microsoft password reset page
Go here:
https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/
Enter your work email address and follow the prompts.
If you have a recovery email address or phone number connected to the account, Microsoft will send you a verification code.
2. Try signing in from the normal Microsoft login page
Go here:
Enter your email address and select "Forgot my password" if needed.
3. If you are not receiving the verification code
Check:
- Your spam/junk email folder
- That you are checking the correct phone number or email address
- That your phone can receive text messages
4. If none of the recovery options work
You may need someone with Microsoft 365 administrator access to reset the account.
If your company has another person who manages Microsoft 365 (IT provider, owner, administrator, etc.), they can:
- Reset your password
- Unlock your account
- Update your recovery information
If nobody has admin access, Microsoft support will need to verify ownership of the account.
A few questions that will help us determine the best next step:
- What email address are you trying to log in with?
- Is this a company Microsoft 365 account or a personal Outlook/Hotmail account?
- What happens when you try to sign in? (Wrong password, locked out, no verification code, etc.)
